Web 2.0 Conferences
The concept of Web 2.0 was first started by Tim O'Reilly, which has many definitions, but basically means the evolution of web thinking through buisness and technical development. This new 'generation' of web thinking has spurred new interest in web conferences, here's a brief rundown of past and upcoming ones:
Web 2.0 Conference (Oct 5-7) in San Francisco talked about where the innovation is happening and what we might expect in the coming year. The list of speakers included experts of every area of the web.
d.Construct 05 (Nov 11th) in Brighton, England had similiar Web 2.0 presentations given by well known UK web authors which focused on technologies such as Ajax, Macromedia Flash, XML and the Flicker API.
SXSW06 (Mar 10-19) in Austin, Texas is a unique conference because it contains three conferences in one huge event: Music and Media, Film and Interactive Web. The web conference includes the most creative web developers, designers, bloggers, wireless innovators and new media entrepreneurs.
@media 2006 (June 15 - 16) in London has a full range of speakers such as Eric Meyer, Jeffrey Veen, Andy Clark, Dave Shea, Cameron Moll, Jeremy Keith, Tantek Celik and many more.
Web Directions South 06 (Sept 29-30) in Sydney, Austrailia will have presenters focusing on web standards, user experience, accessibility, and in-depth sessions on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Ajax.
